Regional tourism award for Drewton's

Published: 26/03/2012

Just days after scooping two top national awards for its homemade burgers, the team at Drewton's Farm Shop is celebrating yet again after winning a Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism Award (REYTA) for serving the most Remarkable Breakfast in the region.

Drewton's was also Highly Commended in the Remarkable Cuppa category in recognition of the quality of its Afternoon Tea menu, which is served all day.

The REYTAs are organised annually by tourism body Visit Hull and East Yorkshire (VHEY), and aim to recognise the very best of the region's tourism offering. They were presented last night at a high profile ceremony at the Country Park Inn, Hessle.

A delighted Katie Taylor, proprietor of Drewton's, said: "We were shortlisted in no less than five different categories, which was a major achievement in itself, and we're absolutely thrilled to have won one award and be Highly Commended in another category. We've always been proud of our hearty Yorkshire breakfast and we know that our customers love it, but to have it named the most Remarkable Breakfast in the Hull and East Yorkshire region is just reward for the hard work of the entire team. I believe that our commitment to using only the finest, locally-sourced ingredients from a network of Yorkshire-based suppliers has paid off; you can really taste the quality."
