Peter Cossins to speak at Le Fête du Tour-themed dinner at Drewton’s Farm Shop

Published: 21/05/2014

The well known cycling journalist Peter Cossins will address guests at a Le Fête du Tour-themed dinner at Drewton’s Farm Shop on Wednesday 4 June.

Peter has written about professional cycling since 1993. He is a contributing editor to Procycling magazine; the editor of the Official Tour de France Programme; the author of The Monuments: The Grit and the Glory of Cycling's Greatest One-Day Races (Bloomsbury, March 2014); and has translated Christophe Bassons' autobiography A Clean Break, which will published by Bloomsbury on 3 July.

He will share fascinating stories and insights from the world of cycling with diners at the event, which has been organised in celebration of the Grand Départ coming to Yorkshire.  Guests will be served a Le Fête du Tour-themed menu, and will also get the chance to hear Gary Verity, chief executive of regional tourism body Welcome To Yorkshire, speak about the event.

The menu will be created using ingredients supplied by food and drink producers who are members of Welcome to Yorkshire and based along the route of the Grand Départ in Yorkshire. The fun dress code for the evening is ‘black tie and cycling shorts’!

Drewton’s proprietor Katie Taylor said: “We’ve organised the dinner to help bring the Le Tour Yorkshire festivities to East Yorkshire. We’re delighted to have both Peter and Gary speaking at the event. It promises to be a fascinating evening for those interested in learning more about the Tour de France ahead of its visit to Yorkshire in July.”

Tickets for the event, which are priced at £38 per person, can be booked by calling 01430 425079 or calling in at Drewton’s Farm Shop.
