Katie Taylor, who owns and runs Drewton’s Farm Shop, has become a well known champion of the ‘eat local’ movement and was recently asked to join the Board of the East Yorkshire Local Food Network.

Last month she addressed delegates at an annual conference organised by FARMA, which is a co-operative of farmers and producers selling their goods at a local level, and has also been asked to speak at the annual Farm Shop and Deli Show at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham in April.

This is further recognition for Katie’s commitment to supporting Yorkshire-based food and drink producers, and encouraging consumers to think about where the produce they buy comes from.

Katie said: “I’m passionate about locally-sourced food and drink; at Drewton’s Farm Shop around 80 per cent of the goods we sell are sourced from Yorkshire-based farmers and growers. We buy from a network of more than 250 local food and drink producers.”
