East Yorkshire business woman nominated for top regional award

Published: 14/05/2013

East Yorkshire-based businesswoman, Katie Taylor, has been nominated for a top regional business accolade in this year’s Yorkshire Women of Achievement Awards.

This week, a delighted Katie, who owns and runs Drewton’s Farm Shop near South Cave, discovered that she’d been nominated in the Business category. The awards are organised by the Sue Ryder charity to recognise and celebrate the achievements of some of Yorkshire’s most amazing women. The awards ceremony also raises much-needed funds to help the charity in its work caring for people with incurable illnesses.

The winners will be announced at a formal awards lunch at the Royal Armouries in Leeds on Friday 7 June.

Katie’s nomination follows on from her recent success in a string of high profile award schemes, which have recognised both her business acumen, and the quality of the products and services on offer at Drewton’s Farm Shop.

Katie said: “I was a little shocked but absolutely delighted to hear I’d been nominated for the Yorkshire Women of Achievement Business Award. There are some truly inspirational women working in a variety of fields here in Yorkshire and I feel very honoured to be in such esteemed company. I’m very much looking forward to the awards lunch in a couple of weeks time.”
