For the second year running, Drewton’s Farm Shop has won the East Riding of Yorkshire Council Chairman’s Award for Business (Under 50 employees).
The aim of the award is to recognise businesses that have helped the economy flourish and reflects the fact that Drewton’s Farm Shop now employs a team of more than 40 local people, as well as supporting a network of more than 250 Yorkshire-based farmers, growers and suppliers. The winners were announced last night (Tuesday 19 May) in a glittering ceremony at Bridlington Spa.
Katie Taylor, proprietor of Drewton’s Farm Shop, said: “We won this same award last year, so it was a huge shock and a real thrill for us to win it again. It’s absolutely amazing to be recognised for our contribution to the regional economy two years running. As well as employing more than 40 local people, we also support a network of more than 250 Yorkshire-based farmers, growers and suppliers, and around 50 other Yorkshire businesses, which provide us with a wide range of services. I’m delighted for our entire team and I think this shows just how farm Drewton’s Farm Shop has come since it was first launched less than five years ago.”
