Drewton’s Farm Shop shortlisted for two national awards

Published: 30/09/2014

Drewton’s Farm Shop near South Cave in East Yorkshire has been shortlisted for two national awards in recognition of its commitment to championing local produce.

Proprietor Katie Taylor, who launched the popular farm shop four years ago this month, was this week informed that it has been shortlisted in the Large Farm Shop of the Year and Farm Restaurant of the Year categories in the 2015 FARMA awards.

Organised by FARMA - a co-operative of UK farmers; small-scale, local producers; and farmers' market organisers - the awards are an annual, national competition that aim to recognise the UK's top local food businesses. The winners will be announced in February 2015.

A delighted Katie said: “To be shortlisted in two different categories in such a high profile, national awards scheme is fantastic news, we’re absolutely delighted and can’t wait for the FARMA Conference in February, when the results will be announced. This particular award scheme is very dear to our hearts because championing our local, Yorkshire-based farmers, growers and suppliers is integral to everything we do here at Drewton’s.”
