Drewton’s Farm Shop is Highly Commended by national tourism body Visit England

Published: 27/05/2013

Drewton's Farm Shop's winning ways continue; the popular shopping and dining venue has been Highly Commended at a national awards ceremony by tourism body Visit England.

The farm shop near South Cave flew the flag for Yorkshire in the 'Taste of England' category at the finals of the Visit England Awards for Excellence 2013 recently, having beaten off competition from entrants across the country to reach the national finals.

The award was presented by Lady Cobham (pictured right) along with Katie Taylor (centre) and Hellen Dimmock (left) from Drewton's.

Katie Taylor, who owns and runs Drewton's Farm Shop, said: "The business only celebrated its second Birthday in October, so we're still very much the new kids on the block and we were up against some very well established competition. Although we didn't win the top award, it was a huge honour to represent Yorkshire and be Highly Commended in such a high profile, national tourism award scheme. It's a reflection of our commitment to sourcing and championing the finest, local produce, something that has always been important to me and is central to everything that we do at Drewton's Farm Shop."
