Drewton’s Farm Shop gives an early Christmas gift to six charities

Six good causes received an early Christmas gift this week, courtesy of the team at Drewton’s Farm Shop.

The Leeds Teaching Hospital’s Lymphoedema Service, GoKidsGo!, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, The Alzheimer’s Society, Dove House Hospice and The Salvation Army were each presented with a share of the proceeds from the farm shop’s Harvest Festival Concert, which took place at Beverley Minster in October. The event raised £2,000 in total, which will be split equally between the charities.

Earlier in December, representatives of each of the organisations were invited along to have a cream tea and receive their cheques in the ‘Winter Wonderland’ that has been set up at Drewton’s Farm Shop to celebrate the festive season.

Katie Taylor, who owns and runs Drewton’s, said: “We chose six wonderfully worthwhile good causes, all of which benefit local people, and it’s lovely to be able to give them an early Christmas gift each. Once again, I’d like to thank everyone who supported our Harvest Festival Concert, including the members of the public and suppliers who attended, and all those who donated prizes for the Tree of Life Raffle. It’s something that we hope to do again next year.”

Last week, the Drewton’s Farm Shop team heard that they have been shortlisted in the Marketing Excellence category at the 2014 Goole and Howdenshire Business Awards.
