Drewton’s Farm Shop celebrates third Birthday with award win and charity fundraising success

Published: 22/10/2013

Drewton’s Farm Shop’s raised £2,000 for a number of good causes at its Harvest Festival Concert, which took place at Beverley Minster earlier this month.

The money will be split between The Leeds Teaching Hospital’s Lymphoedema Service, GoKidsGo!, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, The Alzheimer’s Society, Dove House Hospice and The Salvation Army.

The news rounds off a hugely successful month for Drewton’s Farm Shop, which was last night named the ‘Best Retailer of Local Produce’ at the East Yorkshire Local Food Network’s inaugural awards.

The popular farm shop has also been shortlisted for the ‘Best On-Site Café and Restaurant’ title at the FARMA Awards 2013. FARMA is the National Farmers’ Retail and Markets Association and the winners are due to be announced soon.

Katie Taylor, who owns and runs Drewton’s Farm Shop, said: “This month we’ve celebrated our third Birthday and we couldn’t have asked for a better month! We were delighted by the level of support for our Harvest Festival Concert, from our customers and suppliers, not to mention all of the talented performers. It was a lovely evening and we are extremely proud to have raised so much money for some really worthwhile causes.

“To win one of the first ever East Yorkshire Local Food Network Awards and be shortlisted for a national FARMA award is the icing on the cake; we’ve really got so much to celebrate right now and it’s all down to the hard work of the entire team.”
