Design your own Jubilee bunting at Drewton’s

Published: 01/06/2012

Visitors to Drewton's Farm Shop near South Cave are being given the chance to create their own Diamond Jubilee bunting design as part of a colouring competition to mark the special occasion.

Shoppers and diners will be provided with an A4 piece of bunting and the idea is to decorate it on both sides with a design that sums up what HM The Queen's Diamond Jubilee means to you.

The entries will be laminated and hung up in the Farm Shop for the duration of the Jubilee celebrations. The competition is open to everyone – children and adults. The entries will be judged in three age categories – 11 years and under; 12 to 18 years; and 18 and over. There's a £5 gift voucher to spend at Drewton's Farm Shop for the winner of each category.

Katie Taylor, proprietor of Drewton's, said: "This fun competition is for children and adults alike, and we're hoping to get lots of fabulous entries to decorate the shop with. It's free to enter and you could win a prize, so why not have a go next time you pop into the shop?"

Throughout the weekend, Drewton's will be serving a Jubilee-themed Afternoon Tea 'fit for a queen', as well as selling its special Jubilee Pie, which was one of the winning entries in a competition to come up with a new pie filling. The red, white and blue-themed pie has a raspberry filling and a meringue topping studded with blueberries.
