Through the seasons floristry workshops

If you have a friend or family member who is creative or loves flowers, what better gift could you possibly buy them than the chance to take part in a series of four seasonal workshops with Walkington-based wedding and events florist Wendy Eagle? Passionate about using locally-sourced blooms and natural materials foraged from the hedgerows, Wendy will deliver her four workshops throughout 2017 to give participants the chance to work on different projects that will make full use of the materials available in each season.

The Summer workshop planned for Sunday 9 July will have a ‘flowers and food’ theme and an al fresco lunch of poached salmon with fresh asparagus, new potatoes and a herb salad, followed by a Summer fruit terrine, will be served.

The Autumn workshop on Sunday 22 October will be a celebration of harvest time; participants will make a seasonal arrangement in a pumpkin, and be served a hearty lunch of homemade soup and bread followed by fruit crumble.

The final workshop of the year will take place on Sunday 17 December and will have a festive theme. Guests will make Christmas wreaths and enjoy mulled wine, mince pies and sandwiches generously filled with turkey or smoked salmon.

The package of workshops is priced at £195 and includes all materials, as well as delicious, seasonal food and drink prepared by the Drewton’s Farm Shop team.
